Your hut will be like the Chief's: two doors which when shut make the hut completely secure inside with either a hammock or a ledge to sleep on. For sheets you will use tree bark and you will rise at dawn and go to bed when it gets dark, as there is no electricity.
The toilet is natural and you will wash in the river or stream, the same as you do in the shower at home. You will use natural soap and shampoo and will have a wardrobe of grass skirts. You can also have a canoe to use for checking the fishing nets every morning.
You can learn how to make the clothing from scratch, how to make a blowpipe and all about the traditional culture, particularly the natural remedies made from the plants that grow in the Amazon.
People can stay in the main lodge, which has running water, flush toilets and showers, but would have the opportunity of living the way Chief Michael lives when he is in residence. There are jungle walks that can be done with bare feet, and more traditional houses are being built. The cocamera has been built off the main trail leading from the lodge complex, thus giving it complete authenticity.
Guests can go to other places for a few nights, thus giving more people the opportunity to stay at the lodge. For example, there would be treks, visits to the Pacaya-Samiria Reserve and special courses to learn about shamanism and ayahuasca.
Michael has always wanted to live like that since he was a boy when he read articles about the Amazon in the National Geographic. People have now moved such a long way from nature that they do not realise just what God has provided for us. There is too much stress, too much materialism, and even the Yagua tribe is in danger of slowly following us unless we do something about it.
